Two of Microsoft's 4,000 MVPs work at Informotion
Microsoft names around 4,000 MVPs worldwide. Two of them, Andrew Ly and Andrew O'Young, work at Sydney Microsoft partner Informotion.

Microsoft recognises around 4,000 Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) worldwide, and only a little over 100 of them are in Australia. Two work at Informotion: Andrew Ly and Andrew O'Young.
Not a certification
The MVP award isn't something you can study for. A Microsoft employee or an existing MVP has to nominate you, Microsoft reviews a year of community contributions, and the title has to be earned again every 12 months. It recognises people who share their expertise with the wider Microsoft community, not just their own customers.
Andrew Ly
Andrew is a nine-time MVP in Business Applications, a category held by fewer than 500 people worldwide, and a six-time FastTrack Recognised Solution Architect, a title held by around 170 architects globally. He specialises in Power Platform, Power Apps and Dynamics 365, with more than 25 years of Microsoft delivery behind him, and leads Informotion's AI business process capability.
He sees community work as part of the role: "contributing back to the Microsoft community feels like a natural part of the job".
Andrew O'Young
Andrew is a three-time MVP in two categories at once, Security and Microsoft 365, specialising in Microsoft Intune, with more than a decade of consulting experience. He was also named a 2026 Regional Leader in the Microsoft Global Community Initiative, and leads Informotion's AI workforce and security capability.
What it means for Informotion's customers
MVPs work under NDA with Microsoft, test preview builds and talk directly with the engineers who build the products. For Informotion's customers, that means advice from people who know where Microsoft Purview, Copilot and the wider platform are heading, whether they're choosing which AI use cases to start with or getting more value from existing records and content.

What is a Microsoft MVP?
The Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award recognises community experts. It is not a certification: you are nominated by a Microsoft employee or an existing MVP, a year of contributions is reviewed, and the award has to be earned again every 12 months.
Why does it matter to customers if a partner has MVPs?
MVPs work closely with Microsoft product teams under NDA, test preview releases and attend the MVP Summit in Redmond. Customers get advice from people who know where the products are heading, not only how they work today.
