RecordPoint has signed Informotion as its delivery partner across Australia and New Zealand, combining RecordPoint's data governance platform with Informotion's records and information management practice. The goal is a practical one: help organisations whose AI projects have stalled get them moving again.
The problem behind stalled AI
Most organisations want to put AI in front of their people. The hard part, as Informotion CEO Shane Parsons told ARN, is "the data they have been accumulating for twenty years". Rather than forcing a costly migration, the partnership manages that information where it already lives and puts the governance around it that makes AI use defensible.
Who does what
- Informotion designs the governance and delivers the implementation: discovery, retention and disposal schedules, classification and ongoing support.
- RecordPoint provides the technology layer: classification, retention, disposal, legal hold and privacy controls.
Both work on a manage-in-place model, so records stay in the systems people already use while still meeting retention and compliance obligations. RecordPoint's chief revenue officer, Christian Lucarelli, said Informotion's services strongly complement its technology, helping customers get the most from both their RecordPoint integration and their AI programs. RecordPoint's APAC sales director, Jesse Edwards, added that government agencies and businesses are increasingly being asked to prove quickly what information they hold.
A busy year for Informotion
The appointment follows Shane Parsons becoming Informotion's CEO in February, and Informotion acquiring the full product suite of inReach Software in May to strengthen its OpenText Content Manager capability. Informotion also shared the news with its community on LinkedIn.
How UBE helped
UBE Marketing works with Informotion as its marketing team. Partnership news works hardest when it reaches customers, partners and the channel press together, which is where our PR and media relations and social media teams come in.

Why do AI projects stall?
Many organisations find their AI pilots stall because of the information behind them: years of accumulated content that is duplicated, poorly classified or ungoverned. Strong information governance gives AI a trusted foundation to work from.
What does manage in place mean?
Managing in place means governing records and data where they already sit, such as Microsoft 365 or line-of-business systems, rather than migrating everything into a single records repository. It avoids a large migration program while still applying retention, classification and privacy controls.
