Hola Health's AI-made TV ad proves the tool was never the hard part
Hola Health made its first TV ad in-house with AI tools. UBE Marketing argues the new brand identity and holdout testing matter more than the AI.

Hola Health's first TV ad was made in-house with AI video tools, but the AI is the least interesting part of the story. What makes the campaign worth studying is the brand work underneath it and the testing around it, and that is the lesson for any B2B marketer tempted to treat AI as a shortcut to a campaign.
What's happening
B&T reports that the telehealth company has launched its first television campaign, a 30-second spot its own team produced with AI video tools. It arrived together with a new identity from Sydney agency Studio LDN, which reworked the logo, colours, type, photography style and digital design. Studio LDN's founder James Sutton told B&T the identity was built to stay recognisable in any format, right down to the back of the Australian cricket team's shirts.
The spot is running on Nine's 9Now, with Optimise Media handling the BVOD buy and Sling & Stone on PR. Chief marketing officer Matt Poulier said the goal is recognition for Hola as a name, not for telehealth in general: "We wanted Hola to be unmistakable." Chris Barron, who leads Optimise Media in ANZ, said early geo holdout tests point to incremental growth in key markets.
Our view
AI is not the reason this campaign has a chance. It lowered the cost of making a 30-second spot, which matters for a challenger brand, but a cheap ad for a forgettable brand is still forgettable.
Hola Health got three things right at once. It invested in the identity, not only the ad. It gave the ad one job, which was to make the name stick. And it put a way to measure lift in place, so the spend has to prove itself.
Most teams get this backwards. They start with the tool because it is new, then look for a brand reason to use it. The result is content that looks like everyone else's AI content.
What it means for Microsoft partners and B2B tech firms
B2B tech firms are being sold the same promise: AI will make video, social and ads cheap enough to produce all the time. That part is true. What AI will not do is decide what you stand for, or tell you whether the work paid off.
If your brand rules are loose, AI will simply produce more loose work, faster, with each piece drifting a little further from the last. If you have no measurement plan, you will have more output and no idea which pieces earned their place.
How to put it to work
- Fix the identity before the volume. Lock your colours, type, logo use and tone so AI output has something firm to follow.
- Give each asset one job. Hola's ad is about recognition, not features. Decide whether a piece is for awareness, consideration or conversion before anyone opens a tool.
- Test incrementality, not only clicks. Holdout tests by region or account list show what the spend actually added.
- Keep people on the brief and the sign-off. AI can make the frames, but a named person should own the idea and approve what goes out.
- Plan for reuse. An identity that works on a cricket shirt and a phone screen will also hold up across webinar slides, LinkedIn and event stands.

Frequently asked questions
Did Hola Health use AI to make its TV ad?
Yes. B&T reports the 30-second spot was produced in-house using AI video tools and is running on Nine's 9Now.
Why does the brand identity matter more than the AI tools?
AI makes production cheaper, but without clear brand rules the output drifts and looks like everyone else's. The identity gives every AI asset something consistent to follow.
What is geo holdout testing?
It compares regions that see a campaign with similar regions that don't, so you can estimate the growth the spend actually caused rather than relying on clicks.
